Who Is Lacra in The Blood of Dawnwalker? Vampire Ally & Romance
Lacra is the vampire assassin sent against Brencis — and the only supernatural romance option. Here is her story, questline, and the order that locks her romance.

How do you lock Lacra's romance?
Lacra is the Vale Sangora’s other kind of vampire: not one of Brencis’s court, but an outsider working against him. She is one of Coen’s three romance options — the only supernatural one — and her alliance decides one of the castle-assault endings.
Who Is Lacra, Officially?
The official character bio keeps her deliberately veiled: “Seems like wherever one vrakhir turns up, more are sure to follow.” The worldbuilding is that vampires draw other vampires — some to serve, some to eliminate — and Lacra arrived in the second category: “Someone sent her here to get rid of Brencis, or so she claims.” That last clause is the official page doing quiet work: her employer, her past, and her real story are all open questions the game leaves you to weigh. Polygon’s descriptor is simpler — a vampire on a revenge mission.
How Does Coen Meet Lacra?
Through A Friend Like This, the investigation quest in Svartrau — the alley northeast of the cathedral courtyard, right after the prologue, or via Vicho’s lead in A Study in Crimson. The first meeting is a fight; Polygon notes sparing the Uriashi during it costs you nothing with her.
The Lacra Questline and Romance
Polygon’s chain: A Friend Like This → Song of the Mountain → Hive and Seek → Our Rotten Roots (going left against her wishes reveals her past — apologize after and she forgives you) → The Night of Horrors. You can oppose her at several points along the way and still reach the romance, which Polygon describes closing at the end of The Night of Horrors: eat the mandrake, follow Lacra, drink from her wrist, kiss her.

Lacra’s Ending: Midnight Reckoning
Siding with Lacra is one of the four castle-assault routes in the endings guide: her ritual disruption devastates Griefberg before you ever reach the gates, the family survives “overgrown in the red roots (but still alive),” and betraying her at the end slides you into the deal with Brencis instead. Her line is also the fastest route into the castle for players who skip the Manumit legwork — one more reason the 30-day clock favors knowing which alliance you want early.
