Forge It Anew Quest Guide: Restoring the Sword of St. Mihai

A broken saint’s sword, a grove, and a blacksmith who knows what the blade used to be — Forge It Anew is The Blood of Dawnwalker’s weapon-restoration chain, and the payoff is the best-documented sword in the game.

What Is the Chain?

Fextralife’s quest index places Forge It Anew in St. Tyna’s Grove, with at least one indexed step reading “Forge It Anew: Do Not Disturb” — a multi-part chain rather than a single errand. The end state is confirmed by two independent sources: Fextralife’s weapon page (“This weapon can be obtained upon completing Forge It Anew questline”) and IGN’s legendary equipment list (“Quest reward for completing Forge It Anew”).

Neither source yet publishes a step-by-step walkthrough, and this page will not invent one. What is documented:

1. The chain restores the Broken Sword of St. Mihai — Superior rarity, 51 max damage, −2% sword skill cooldown, “Not as magnificent as it once was, but still deadly.”
2. The restored form is the Imbued Sword of St. Mihai — 78 max damage, Legendary/Unique, with a crit-focused kit that makes it the top-damage documented sword in the game.
3. It runs through St. Tyna’s Grove, in the region band between Briar Sloughs and the endgame areas — plan it before the story passes the point of no return.

The Anca Connection

The same saint’s blade opens Anca’s romance line. TheGamer’s walkthrough:

• Wait for the prompt, then visit Anca early in the morning — that triggers the Font of Life quest, whose trophy (Sins of the Past: “Accompany Anca on her daring adventure to the Font of Life”) is one of PowerPyx’s 18 missables.

Why Bother With the Chain?

Because 78 max damage is the ceiling of the documented sword pool — ahead of The Kingslayer (73), The Purge (68), Durandal (66), and Gladius (64) — and the effect kit (+5% melee crit chance, +7.5% sword crit damage) is the only documented one that scales both sides of crit.
