FAQ

Who is Farkas in The Blood of Dawnwalker?
Bakir's scorned servant, per Rock Paper Shotgun — nicknamed "Farkas the Fox." Destroying one of Bakir's stations at Lunar Manor summons him, and in exchange for recovering his heirloom amethyst ring he smuggles you into the Lunar Tournament.
How do you start The Ring quest?
After defeating Bakir, you must ask him about the ring as your reward, per GameRant — that is what tells you about Farkas and unlocks the choice to keep it. Taking money instead and leaving locks the quest out entirely.
What happens if you give Farkas the ring?
He leaves and the quest completes — but PowerPyx's guide notes a later event reveals he accidentally killed his brother with it, calling it "not an overall good outcome." GameRant adds the revelation arrives via an epilogue letter.

Farkas is the crack in Bakir’s armor. Rock Paper Shotgun introduces him as the Mad Khan’s scorned servant — “Farkas the Fox” — and the entire Lunar Game runs through him: he wants his heirloom, an amethyst ring, returned, and in exchange he will smuggle you into the tournament where Bakir waits.

Where Does Farkas Fit in the Lunar Game?

When The Lunar Game stalls on “Wait for the right opportunity” at Lunar Manor, Rock Paper Shotgun’s route forward is destroying one of Bakir’s stations on the grounds — that summons Farkas. His smuggling offer comes with rules: no inventory inside the tournament, and using Vrakhiri powers would expose you — though if you slip up mid-maze, Rock Paper Shotgun notes Farkas “will try to distract him from your tomfoolery” until Bakir catches on.

On the fight path he hands you a Treasury ticket, and afterward he resurfaces in Parlita — where, per Rock Paper Shotgun, he is pretty annoyed that Bakir lied to him, and his repayment is “certainly not loot worth talking about.” (The feast path that spares Bakir has no documented Farkas reappearance.)

The Ring: The Quest With a Trap in the Trigger

Agree to help Farkas — or simply grab the ring yourself — and the quest log, per PowerPyx, reads: “Now that Bakir has been dealt with, there’s the matter of the ring that Farkas asked me to recover from the treasury.” The ring sits in a small chest on a shelf on the north side of the treasure chamber. The quest has no fail state: refusing Farkas or even killing him still lets you take the ring elsewhere. It costs 1 time segment if you hand it back, 3 if you carry it on.

Every Outcome of the Ring

Five ways it can go, per PowerPyx and GameRant:

  1. Give Farkas the ring. He leaves; the quest completes. Later, the game reveals he accidentally killed his brother with it — PowerPyx calls this “not an overall good outcome,” and GameRant notes the news arrives by epilogue letter.
  2. Refuse him. The objective becomes “Find someone who might know more about the ring” — the 3-time-segment path.
  3. Give it to Anca. She won’t explain much, calls it dangerous dark magic per GameRant, offers to destroy it — and leaves you the Epic Quick Fighter’s Ring.
  4. Show the Matriarch of the Uriashi village. GameRant’s alternative: she rewards the Vrakhir’s Endurance Amulet. You meet her during Song of the Mountain on Lacra’s questline — entry is easier if you have met Ocha and finished her quest in Svartrau.
  5. Keep it. No listed reward — and GameRant notes keeping the ring makes Farkas mad.

The find-out-more path pays 75 XP on initially recovering the ring, and the Anca route adds 75 more with the ring itself.

Why Farkas Matters

He is the Vale Sangora’s small-people view of the court: a servant with a grudge, a family relic, and a body count waiting in his future if you hand him the wrong thing. His quest is also the cheapest window into how the game hides consequences — one dialogue choice at Bakir’s corpse decides whether an entire side story exists at all. If you are routing the deal ending, note that everything here happens inside the Bakir fight’s time budget.
